Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 11, 2026
LetSpeak is built for private practice. There is no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. The developer does not collect any personal data from you.
Your voice
When you practice pronunciation or have a conversation, LetSpeak uses the microphone to record your voice. Recordings are scored and transcribed on your device and are never sent to a server. You can replay them in the app; they stay on your device.
Photos and camera
When you take or pick a photo to create a reading lesson, Apple Intelligence processes it on your device. The photo is not uploaded.
Your progress and iCloud
Your progress, scores, flashcards and the books and comics you add are stored on your device. If you use iCloud, they sync through your own iCloud account so you can continue on iPhone, iPad and Mac. Apple stores iCloud data under Apple’s privacy policy; the developer cannot access it.
When the app goes online
LetSpeak works offline. It only connects to the internet in these cases, and never sends personal information about you:
- Downloading lesson packs (audio and images) from Apple’s servers or from Cloudflare, where we host content. Like any web server, these may record IP addresses in technical logs.
- Opening a YouTube video connects to YouTube, which is subject to Google’s privacy policy.
- Downloading a book from a link connects only to the address you enter.
- Turning on Wi‑Fi sharing lets devices on the same local network send or receive books and comics. It stops when you close it.
YouTube
LetSpeak’s YouTube lessons use YouTube API Services. Videos play in YouTube’s own embedded player, and the app reads public information about videos — titles, thumbnails and captions — from YouTube.
When you search YouTube or play a video, YouTube and Google may collect information such as your IP address and device details, and may set cookies, under the Google Privacy Policy. LetSpeak sends YouTube none of your recordings or learning data and never accesses a YouTube or Google account.
The videos you save and where you stopped are kept on your device and in your own iCloud, and you can remove them in the app at any time. To manage what Google holds about you, use your Google account settings.
Translation and AI
Translation uses Apple’s on-device translation. AI-generated lessons use Apple Intelligence running on your device. Nothing you enter is sent to the developer.
Purchases
In-app purchases are handled by Apple. The developer receives no payment information, only whether your device has unlocked the full version.
Children
LetSpeak does not collect personal data from anyone, including children.
